U.S. I

The U.S. I Comprehensive Exam

The U.S. I (1492-1865) comprehensive exam is a four hour adventure in writing, testing your knowledge of almost every possible aspect of American history from the time Columbus stumbled into the area until the South ceased to exist as a belligerent in the Civil War.

Covering everything from first encounters between Europeans and Native Americans to 19th century issues of Gender and Reform, the U.S. I comp spans the longest time period of any American History comprehensive exam. As such, the current line of thinking goes that the best way to prepare is by dividing up the different areas into coherent, identifiable themes, accompanied by visuals and timelines.

You may begin your own personal adventure now, by highlighting the U.S. I tab above, and selecting one of the choices from the pull-down menu.
